Annabel Lemma

6th Year, CBE

I am a 6th year Ph.D. candidate in Chemical and Biological Engineering originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I earned my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Brown University and my current research project focuses on understanding the physiology of bacterial persisters, phenotypes known to cause the recalcitrance of chronic infections such as TB and pneumonia. During my time at Princeton, I have worked as a professional development associate for the graduate school, as a graduate co-curricular and administrative fellow for the office of Program for Access and Inclusion and as a graduate instructor/ mentor for the office of undergraduate research.

"As a diversity fellow, I am really excited to work with the ADI team to increase the presence of graduate students from diverse backgrounds on campus and also to continue building an environment where each and every graduate student can feel supported and at home."
