Mentorship and social and academic support are necessities for graduate school success. For underrepresented students, who may be from low-income backgrounds and/or the first in their families to have attended college, that need often is felt even more keenly.

Princeton University has received national honors for its outstanding commitments to diversity and inclusion. The 2019 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is given annually to U.S. colleges and universities by the magazine “INSIGHT Into Diversity.”

Fourteen Princeton University departments will no longer require the GRE test for graduate admission. Princeton is among other universities across the country that have eliminated the standardized test requirement for graduate study.
